Frequently Asked Questions

We’re a mobile pelvic health clinic — which means I come to you.
I provide in-home pelvic floor therapy services to women in Concord, Harrisburg, Mount Pleasant, Salisbury, Charlotte, and surrounding areas.
Healing feels different when you’re in your own space — comfortable, relaxed, and not rushing across town to make an appointment. My goal is to make high-quality, whole-person pelvic care accessible and supportive right where you are.

No — North Carolina is a direct access state for Occupational Therapy, which means you can come see me without a physician referral.
If you’re planning to submit superbills to your insurance for possible reimbursement, some companies do require a referral. I recommend calling your insurance provider ahead of time to clarify their specific requirements.
If you’re unsure, I’m always happy to help you think through it

Well Within Pelvic Care is an out-of-network provider and not contracted with any insurance companies.
That said, many clients are able to receive reimbursement through their out-of-network occupational therapy benefits. The percentage varies depending on your specific plan. Because insurance can be complex and unpredictable, I always recommend calling your provider directly to understand your coverage. While I’m happy to support you with documentation, I can’t guarantee reimbursement.
Payment is due at the time of service. I accept HSA cards, cash, debit, and credit cards.
After each session, I can provide a detailed invoice (superbill) that you’re welcome to submit to your insurance company or medical savings plan for out-of-network reimbursement.

Pelvic floor therapy is about more than just the pelvic floor — it’s about your whole body.
We look at your daily habits, movement patterns, breathing, posture, stress, and lived experiences to understand what’s contributing to your symptoms. From there, we create a personalized plan to help your body heal in a way that feels supportive and sustainable.
Treatment may include:
Assessing breathing patterns
Looking at posture and pelvic alignment
Evaluating how you walk, stand, and sit
Checking strength and coordination in your core, hips, and low back
Hands-on manual therapy and external techniques
Internal assessment (only if and when it’s appropriate and with your full consent)
Nervous system regulation, mindfulness, and gentle movement
This is collaborative, trauma-informed care designed to help you reconnect with your body and feel strong, supported, and at home within it.

First, we sit. We talk. You share your story.
We’ll go over your concerns, your medical history, and what’s been weighing on you. This is a judgment-free space — you don’t have to filter or minimize anything here.
From there, I’ll assess things like posture, breathing patterns, and how your body is moving and holding tension. I often provide simple education about pelvic anatomy and function so you truly understand what’s going on. If you’re a visual learner, we can use a demo model to make it all make sense.
Together, we’ll prioritize what matters most to you and create a clear plan forward. You’ll leave with practical tools you can begin using right away for relief and symptom improvement.
Most importantly, you’ll walk away with clarity — a better understanding of your body and a path toward feeling more connected and supported within it.

Initial evaluations and subsequent tailored treatment visits are 60 minutes.

Comfortable clothing that you can easily move in. Leggings or loose fitting pants or shorts are great options.
-
That is completely okay. Truly.
Internal work is just one of many tools we can use — and it is never mandatory. While it can sometimes provide helpful insight into how your pelvic floor muscles are functioning, there are many effective assessments and treatment options we can do fully clothed.
I offer a “menu” of options based on your comfort level because one size does not fit all. The best option is always the one you feel most comfortable with.
This is collaborative care. You have full control and ownership of your body at all times. You can say no. You can ask questions. You can change your mind at any point during a session.
-
Yes — absolutely!
Your menstrual cycle is a normal, healthy part of life, and it does not mean you need to cancel your appointment. As long as you feel comfortable, we can absolutely continue with your session.
In fact, this can be a really helpful time to work together. We can address menstrual discomfort, cramping, pressure, and explore supportive strategies to help ease symptoms.
This space honors your whole cycle — not just the convenient parts of it.
Have more questions? I’ll be happy to answer them!
